Taking the Next Step in Our Reuse Initiative
Reuse is more relevant than ever and plays a vital role in conserving virgin resources and reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Sortera has always aimed to maximise the recycling of materials, and now we are investing in reuse to help customers take the next step in the waste hierarchy. In this way, we continue to drive progress toward a more sustainable society where resources are given a second chance.

As part of this initiative, Sortera is establishing the Reuse division, tasked with helping our customers find reuse opportunities together with us. By getting involved early in the process, we can match the right product with the right user – without unnecessary intermediaries.
“Reuse is where we can make the biggest difference. Part of our service offering includes conducting reuse inventories, which involve identifying what can be reused and what can be recycled. Through a thorough review, we develop action plans that provide customers with insights into costs, savings opportunities, and the environmental benefits that come with increased reuse and recycling,” says Pelle Halling, Head of Reuse at Sortera.
Pelle Halling has nearly two decades of experience in practical sustainability. Over the years, Pelle has witnessed how attitudes towards reuse and sustainability have changed and how awareness of extending the lifespan of products has grown significantly.
“We look for resources, not waste,” Pelle explains. “Our goal is to reuse as much as possible, and what cannot be reused will be recycled.”
